Dolce and Gabbana Sunglasses | Fall 2012
So you can see why I wanted a pair of these sunglasses, so I thought why not try and DIY it myself. And being the make, do and mend sort of person I am I went to the nearest craft store and bought what I could find.
So what you’ll need is:
A pair of sunglasses (you’ll get a few pairs for free with a magazine like Glamour)
Bostik Glue
Nail polish in desired colours
White Nail Polish (as a base coat)
Clear Nail Polish
Flowers (I bought these big plastic ones as well as those paper crafty ones)

So I know it doesn’t seem logical to use the paper ones but what I figured is if you coat it enough in nail polish it will become like plastic, and you know what, it did. So while you’re watching your favourite series paint these flowers in a white base coat during an ad break then leave them while you watch your show then during the next ad paint another coat.
*Tip* It’s easier to paint the flowers in sections so you don’t get your hands dirty and the paint all blotchy.

Once the base coat has dried say about 15minutes then start painting your flowers in your desired colours. Dolce and Gabbana have pastels but I didnt have those shades of nail polishes so I just used the colours I already had. (and yes this included my Esse but no worries there will be a more fabulous colour next season). If you can find beautiful flowers in a porclein or plastic then don’t bother to paint them, like I did with the light pink big flower.
Yet again once your beautifully painted flowers have dried, cut off the wire as close to the base as possible. Lol those were the only scissors I could find at the time.

Now for the fun part, play around with the flowers you have a create a pretty pattern that you prefer. I reworked two pairs of sunnies because it was that much fun. Then finally glue em and stick em, then let it dry overnight and Voila!!
