Hunger Games → Watch your mouth!

“The trouble with being in the rat race is that even if you win, you’re still a rat.” – Lily Tomlin

One of the giant pitfalls of being busy is skipping meals and the mindless munching that usually follows. I often get so caught up with my hectic schedule that I don’t have time to eat.

I tend to skip meals and then try to satisfy my hunger with a shitty sugar or carb-laden meal. Fifteen minutes later, I am hungry again. Ah and those mid-afternoon cravings for something sweet.

Two words. Sugar demons.  It’s a vicious cycle.

So, I’ve decided to make a few lifestyle changes that will see me transform myself, and embrace a healthier lifestyle.

I have finally said goodbye to the ‘culture of busy’. Being busy is a choice, after all. So I’m choosing to manage my time more efficiently and hopefully increase my productivity.

Creating more time for work and play and not skipping meals. Instead, choosing to prepare fabulous, visually appealing, healthy and nutritious dishes that can be whipped up in no time.

Haute Dining

…may the odds be ever in your favour

For me, it’s all about flawless execution. I love visually exciting food.

I am usually the one salivating over the jewelled pomegranate seeds on my salad plate or the picture excellent plating skills of a food stylist in any glossy.

I now begin each day with a delicious, nutritious ‘GO Power Breakfast‘. It’s a healthy way to fuel my body, banish sugar cravings and help keep my waistline in check.

I love a meal-in-a-glass, green smoothie bursting with flavour and packed with potent antioxidants or a bowl of low-fat Greek yoghurt with fresh fruit and a drizzle of honey.

You’ll find some great-looking breakfast recipes on my Pinterest board to inspire any health conscious fashionista – and please feel free to share your recipes with me, as well.

And while you’re at it, why not make those dishes look so stunning and heavenly delicious that you’re drooling at the thought of preparing them?

Summer is the perfect time to indulge in new food experiences.

Let’s start a whole new way of eating and preparing food that is as colourful and bright as our summer wardrobes.

Be innovative with your food, just as you are with your fashion choices. Healthy eating is right on trend so have fun with it. Being health conscious is just as important as being fashion conscious.

After all, your lifestyle is one you design and choose – so choose healthily and enjoy it.
