“On average a woman will eat about 2.7kg’s of lipstick in her lifetime.”
It never occurred to me that make-up is actually something we consume, literally, as it is used near entry points like our mouth, nose and eyes. So it obviously makes sense to use a natural organic product.
The Dr.Hauschka brand is a natural skincare range launched over 40 years ago but it was first introduced to me when a lovely package was dropped off at StyleSociety HQ with a few Dr.Hauschka skincare products, a bottle of De Grendel Wine, Curd & Whey Farm Yoghurt, a pot of honey and a cute canvas invite. I thought this package was so thoughtful already but I was in for more at the event!
Inspiration was all around the De Grendel Wine Estate as we nibbled on yummy foods that used the same key natural ingredients as used in the Dr.Hauschka products. The cinnamon apple strudel was inspired by the Eyeshadow Duo 7 in a Soft Cinnamon and Deep Bronze, and the carrot cake topped with rosewater icing was inspired by the Rose Day Cream. So you see digesting the Dr.Hasuchka natural & organic products (unintentionally that is) is alright for the body, unlike other make-up that are produced with chemicals and other man-made stuff (yes stuff).
But before we could munch away on all the sweets and treats we had to hold back the tears as Karin from Montrose Foundation shared her story on the organization that helps youth at risk to get back into society. The organization helps these girls build a positive outlook on life as well as self confidence in an 8 week program through natural therapy of working with horses by grooming and walking them (no riding is done). It was so thoughtful for the Dr.Hauschka brand to share this launch with this organization as it shows that nothing is more beautiful than self worth.
Self worth is taking care of yourself, including your presentation. So Karim Sattar, a world renowned celebrity make-up artist that now works in the Dr.Hauschka team for Wala shared details on the design for the latest mascara brush, a few make-up tips with his wit and love for all things natural. He introduced to us the limited edition Summer collection Dear Eyes… It includes an eyeshadow trio, kajal eyeliner, volume mascara and eyeshadow brushes which we did receive as a gift and I will post a review on soon.
The Dr.Hauschka event didn’t over load on the logo branding but actually shared a part of their ethics throughout the event which I feel is a better way to ‘get the message across’. The Dr.Hauschka launch was a beautifully pure reflection on the brand.
They have made a fan out of me!
