Happy Diwali… Love, Light and Sparkles

A few special friends joined our Diwali celebrations tonight. Even though I had the most hectic week, I decided that I was going to give baking a try. My plan was that hub would get some store bought sweetmeats as backup 🙂

So I scouted for recipes and decided to settle on mum’s choice. I made these two simple Indian Sweetmeats – Penda and Soji balls which were divine; I’m told. *insert big smiles here*

I wasn’t too concerned about a food coma. Thankfully I’m a savoury girl. My favourite is Chevda often called Bombay Mix, which is a mixture of fried lentils, peanuts, chickpea flour noodles, flaked rice, onion, chilli and curry leaves.
