You know how us women are with colour. Like our nail polish collection might look like just red, orange and pink to men but we totally see the difference between magenta and raspberry! Well this Periwinkle is a mix of baby blue, lilac and a touch of dove grey, that’s just one way to look at it.
Well it’s a sorbet blueberry colour, yum! Periwinkle has a royal look to it where it also has an icy feel, it reminds me of a (how to say it nicely) Mean Ice Queen. It also reminds me of the ombre shades in a soft winter sunset as well as hydrangea bushes which I am loving at the moment. Well it’s a very hard colour to point out exactly because it might look a little too duck egg blue or too grape purple. Well you ladies know what I mean right?!
So anyway back to why it’s so important to know this shade!
Yes, Periwinkle is a sort of pastel colour which was last years trend but there is still something gorgeous about this soft colour, it’s totally unusual as it’s a very specific mood. I managed to find collections off the international runways that showed periwinkle and I was so glad to find that it’s not just a colour for this coming season. Chloe showed us how to wear it everyday in Fall 2012/13 while typical Elie Saab Spring 2013/14 gave us a soft take on heavy beading couture and then Oscar de la Renta decided to give us some lessons on being a lady for Pre-Fall 2013/14.
Ladies! Tell me now, wouldn’t you raid the rails for this oh so haute colour!
