Lunching at the Marigold Restaurant, Franschhoek

Kumari Govender Marigold Restaurant in Franschhoek

I am a huge lover of spicy Indian cuisine especially fiery North Indian style dishes. So naturally, I could not contain my excitement when I heard that an authentic Indian Restaurant was opening right on my doorstep in the Cape Winelands. For me this meant that I can enjoy my favourites without putting in any time in the kitchen. I was even more excited to hear that seasoned chef, Vanie Padayachee (ex. Le Quartier Français) will be at the helm of the new Marigold Restaurant in Franschhoek.

I spent my Saturday afternoon past, late lunching with my faves, at the exotic Marigold Restaurant in Franschhoek. I had the Palak Chaat for my starter. If you’re heading there please do yourself a favour and order this. It is crispy spinach leaves in gram flour batter topped with sweetened curd, tamarind, chilli and onion. For my main, I ordered the Marigold Thali.

The food was BEYOND flawless. And you know how I am always in search for the Best Pet Friendly Restaurants in the Cape. Best news is that this restaurant accommodates small dogs if you’re seated outside so Zeus and Zara were given the royal treatment. Mama was very pleased.

Perfect weekend things ♡
