Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cape Town|KLûK CGDT

A rainy night in the heart of Cape Town was the place to be on Saturday. A long queue of fashionably dressed waited to get inside. Fortunately for me a wrist band got me past the long queue and out the rain.

Beautifully positioned on the corner of Bree and Waterkant street, Studio 54 came alive in the form of Malcolm and Christiaan’s opening night of their new flagship boutique. It was a visual feast and a haven for culture, art and design with a fashion installation of designs by KLûK CGDT and Vlisco. Cape Town’s beautiful and stylish showed up in full support of KLûK CGDT. All floors of this amazing building were well-thought-out and was simply, beautiful!

A floating cocktail was an enchanting drink on arrival followed by delicious trays of food that were fashionably presented. I personally loved the massive bowls of sweets. I’d have to be honest and tell you – the food did not matter. There was too much to see and many familiar faces to greet.

This was the second last show for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cape Town and there is no doubt why KLûK CGDT is South Africa’s premier fashion label. The evening belonged to the tall statuesque models in their KLûK CGDT outfits. There was also a Grace Jones look-alike and she looked stunning!

The invite did inform you that there will be dancing and this is how the night ended. The top floor was filled with guests dancing the night away with balloons floating around the ceiling, and the gorgeous and talented Lizé Heerman performing. Disco ball in motion KLûK CGDT certainly did Studio 54 proud.

Wishing KLûK CGDT much success. Go visit their new flagship boutique and the next time you need something special, look no further and support local!
