All Bow To The Squareletto | Square Stiletto Nails

The Style Gods have spoken! And the verdict is in fashion mavens ‘Thou Shalt Now Favour The Squareletto | Square Stiletto Nails’.

If you are a fashion maven and understand your basics of eternal ramp glory, you will never ditch your stiletto heels. Even at the threat of sartorial ostracism! There is just something powerful and sensual about towering over the world and not heeding the consequences! Am I right or am I right?

But where nails are concerned, the trends are always a little on the whimsical side. They have mercurial tempers and women adore pandering to their capriciousness.

A good decade ago, it was the reborn French mani popularized by Jennifer Lopez. And then came the extensions heavily decorated with glitter and shimmer and everything else in between.

The Classic Stiletto Nail:
But I must confess! It was this beauty that pushed me over. I went from short and sensible to flossy in fierce red, just to sample the joys of the stiletto.

Popularised by the likes of Lana Del Rey and Rihanna, the distinctive claw-like look took over the globe. It was outlandish. It was bold. And it gave every woman the power of having the world at her fingertips. Literally! High maintenance and high risk, it quickly achieved cult beauty status.

But when something rises, it must fall! The Style Gods have spoken! And the verdict is in, fashion mavens ‘Thou Shalt Now Favour The Squareletto – Square Stiletto Nails’.

The Squareletto | Square Stiletto Nails

The Squareletto:

Pointy is on its way out, and square is in! According to the Oracles at Vogue, this fall women can cavort with their significant others, without the fear of taking out an eye! Because even though the stilts have survived, the powers that be now hail the square stiletto as the next big thing.

Ever since Riri was seen sporting them in neon green, the grapevine has been abuzz with the good news. Length doesn’t need to be compromised. And the nail techs have breathed a sigh of relief! Spending months perfecting the stiletto, they will not have to throw away a valuable skill. It just needs to be modified a little. And all will be well with the world again.

Make Your Squareletto Memorable This Year:

Squarelettos love minimalism.

Paint them a bold black, a crisp white, a subtle nude, a matte mauve (my fave) or glossy red. And let them be. They will make a statement without any further effort on your part except for maintaining your manicure that is 🙂

Just like stiletto nails, you can wear a shorter version of the squareletto (mini squarelettos aka shorties!).

If you get bored with your glossy nails, just add a matte topcoat. I am loving my matte nails right now, and they look super haute, especially this  shade by Catrice Luxury Nudes – 04 Your Fresh Apri-Coat

Please excuse my dry cuticles. I snapped these images using my iPhone just after having my nails done. I didn’t add any cuticle oil because I wanted to share this beautiful, gorgeous matte shade. Obvs, my cuticles were oiled thereafter 😊

Do you think the square stilettos are here to stay? At least temporarily?! Have you had a squareletto yet? Let us know! We love haute gossip and our daily dose of glam.

And when you get your nails done, remember to proudly share an image on social using the hashtag #squareletto.

Till next time!
