The Magic of Thomas Burberry presents a Lavish Christmas Campaign. After the three minutes are over the visuals, stick in your head! But what you leave the trailer with are the words, “People come to me with their dreams. I make them a reality.”

Fast forward to today. The famous trench coat seen on stars like Emma Watson and the trademark Haymarket Check on high-end accessories still tease buyers with the same promise. The dream of being a part of the British brand that’s fired people’s imaginations!

Yes, I am talking about Burberry.

If you haven’t picked up on the buzz yet, 2016 is going to be even more expansive. Last year the company commemorated the 15th anniversary of Billy Elliot. This time around, their Christmas campaign is a lavish and almost noir trailer, re-imagining the events which shaped the life of the pioneer and visionary Thomas Burberry.

I Watched Closely, And This is What Left Me Impressed.
If you take a peek at the trailer launch pictures, they are glittering and star-studded. Just what is expected from a royal brand that has clothed monarchs! But I personally feel that the real gems – the genuine glimpses of what makes Burberry such a cult is hidden in the actual cinematic offering.

Asif Kapadia – the Academy Award Winning director, starts on a high note in typical Hollywood style. Subtly reinforcing the “magic” that surrounded the tale, the trials, the tribulations and the eventual triumph of Burberry.

The best way to enjoy this treat is actually to see the video.

The haunting background score sets the mood and makes you anticipate the next scene.
You can’t help but feel honoured to be a part of the brand’s legacy.
It’s heartwarming to see a campaign that is so thoughtful and in touch with its roots. The message is clear.

“THE FILM IS THE STORY OF THOMAS BURBERRY – IT’S THE STORY OF BURBERRY THE MAN, A PERSON WHO CREATED A FABRIC, WHICH CREATED THE LABEL, WHICH HAS BECOME A HUGE FASHION BRAND. THE IDEA OF THE FILM WAS TO SHOW WHERE IT ALL BEGAN.

THE AIM WAS TO MAKE A TRAILER FOR A FILM THAT WE HAVEN’T ACTUALLY MADE. SO TO BRING TOGETHER ALL THESE EPIC MOMENTS OF LIFE, DEATH, BIRTH, LOVE AND RELATIONSHIPS, AND TO GO THROUGH TIME AND TO HAVE VARIOUS CHARACTERS THAT WOULD APPEAR AND REAPPEAR – IT WAS ABOUT FINDING THESE EPIC MOVIE MOMENTS THAT WOULD THEN MAKE THE TRAILER.” – ASIF KAPADIA
